MIXED MEDIA /// acrylic paint, embroidery thread, paint marker
Rainier explores the fragility of nature. It’s easy to forget the things we take for granted are temporary. Mt. Rainier is a work of art and can only be seen on a handful of days due to fog, smog, clouds, etc. The embroidery embodies the delicacy of nature. This mixed media work is available in the Sydney Brooke Art Store.
THRIVE is an image from Kopachuck State Park in Gig Harbor, WA. Kopachuck is a fun trail because you feel as if you are lost in the woods until you reach the waters edge which overlooks an island called Dead Man's Island. How often do we find ourselves dead in our daily walk of life? What if our dreadful mundane transformed into our extraordinary life? The inspiration behind the name thrive came from the song by Jon Foreman : "I want to thrive not just survive." (Album: Vice Verses | Song Title: THRIVE)
URBAN BEES is based on a shop located on Vashon Island, WA just outside of Seattle. This shop was filled with all natural items including fresh honey on tap. The style of this painting captures the essence of the fresh, whimsical, and natural vibe of the store.
